The BASIC handlebar DIY kit comes with all the cables and wire extensions cut to the correct length to fit your bike. It DOES NOT come Prewired, meaning you need to wire the handlebars. It requires soldering the extensions to extend your wiring to fit the handlebars. And it DOES NOT included handlebar switches and controls. You need to remove the switches and controls from your old handlebars and install them on these new bars. The idea for the BASIC package is to save you money by allowing you to do most of the work yourself.
Chrome or Black 1 1/4 inch FAT 16 inch Ape Hangers with Stainless Steel braided or black throttle cables, clutch cable, front brake line and handlebar wiring extension kit to fit any Harley model 2012-20016. The handle bars reduce in size to 1 inch at the riser clamp to accept stock risers. They also reduce down to 1 inch at the grip ends to accept stock controls. Our bars are pre-drilled with holes larger than other manufacturers to make the job of running the wires through the bars a much easier task. Below are the specs for each size:
12 inch ( 1 1/4 inch diameter, 35 inch width, 8.5 inch pullback ), 1 1/4 inch mounting diameter
14 inch ( 1 1/4 inch diameter, 35 inch width, 8.5 inch pullback ), 1 1/4 inch mounting diameter
16 inch ( 1 1/4 inch diameter, 36 inch width, 8.5 inch pullback ), 1 1/4 inch mounting diameter
18 inch ( 1 1/4 inch diameter, 37 inch width, 9.5 inch pullback ), 1 1/4 inch mounting diameter
20 inch ( 1 1/4 inch diameter, 37.5 inch width, 9.5 inch pullback ), 1 1/4 inch mounting diameter

All of our cables are made from high quality black vinyl or braided stainless steel braid with a protective inner coating for smooth operation, and have a clear protective outer coating for protection.
Note:Most 1 1/4 inch handlebars are 5 1/8 inch between the 1 1/4 inch sections where the risers mount. In some cases you might have to grind the outside portion of the risers for 1 1/4 inch handlebars to fit and clamp down properly.
TURN SIGNAL WIRING NOTICE: Some models come with turn signal lights mounted on the handlebar controls. Due to the added cost and complexity of these components, they are not included in our kits. We can add the wiring for the turn signals for an additional fee if needed (this is the Turn Signal Wiring Option), but you will have to solder your turn signal lights to the wiring we put inside the handlebars that will be sticking out of the lower switch housings on the right and left sides. You will also have to solder the turn signal light connector to the 6 wires coming out of the bottom of the handlebars. Most of our customers discard them or mount them to forks and we have brackets available to accommodate this modification.
